The Finale

Work.

Coffee:

Reflection: The most personal experience I had was how to work in a team effort. Usually I am the person who does most of the work, but here I have learned that it is more efficient when you do the work in a group and also it helps you to be able to trust the people you work with more.

Internship Day 11.0

Through the day I usually work with about 8 or even sometime 10 different people. But especially I work with three people who are my mentor, the office secretary and the man in charge which we call the Admiral. The direct collaboration is usually that I do some sort of work and then my mentor will look over it and she can say what she likes and what she doesn’t like. Then once we are both out of ideas we come over to the office and then she will critique it. The direct collaboration is a good thing because it helps to come out of the routine of just doing the same thing over and over again. The indirect work that happens is when I use the computer of the Museums Curator. he comes in on Saturday when I am not here and he uses the computer so if don’t leave it how he had he settings then he would have a hard time doing his work.

Internship Day 10.0

This week was a very relax and stressful week at the same time because of the fact that I had so much to do in one day. Through the week I have been working on a flyer that is going to be use to show the different types of package that the museum offer for renting the space. Also I was tasked with helping other around, things like bringing things or showing other interns how to do things. But overall I think that I have accomplished more than I thought I could. Also this week went smooth in the sense that I used a lot of the techniques that I have learned through the year in making things look professional.

Internship Day 7.0

One of the qualities that have come to admire from my co workers is how Paul has an established routine that allows him to do thing quickly and efficiently. This to me is key because once you work in the same place for a long period of time then it makes it so much easer on yourself. The only flaw in this is plan is that after a while you start to get into the routine that the days seem to be longer and you get frustrated. that when the qualities of my mentor, Melani, come in because she has a routine but she likes to do things in different order everyday and also is not afraid to go out of the routine and help others who need help. These are the qualities I was expecting to learn from my internship and I am hoping to learn more s the week goes by.

Written Summary of Projects:
For my project I am going and have done several smaller projects that add up to basically an advertising project. I have completed things from press releases to ads for the print shop that the museum has and am currently working on making a ad for small schools to have there proms or dances here at the museum. also I have been working on a project that is called "Science Day": which is happening thought the park , and the museum is focusing on the advances in the in medical science during war. This project is not going to be completed but I am in charge of making forward progress on it. I am not sure if there are going to be other print ads that I might be making so make sure to stay on the blog to find out.

Week Summary and Analysis: This week was a very interesting week as i got a chance to do all most every job around the office. Also I was able to get a feeling of how things run here at the museum. The best part about my week was when I got to go down into the dungeon where all the historical artifacts are kept. Things ranging from weapons to uniforms and to rations packs. The low point of my week was the part where the waiting around part. There are situation where I am ask to wait for instructions, so that means to grab a chair and just find something to entertain myself. Also there are times when coworkers do have bad days and they are not in a good mood. Just like any human you need to learn how to deal with them and not take anything personal. Overall this week was a great success because I accomplished three ads and they are all out in the world so that people can see them.

Internship Day 5.0

The Thing that I would really love to know about my mentor is how she came to the decision of what she wanted to study in college. This is proven to be very difficult for me because I do no know what I would like to study for college. Also I would love to know what she saw herself doing in high school and if that vision is still a possibility for her.

Internship Day 1.0

Questions for my mentor:

-How is the museum using the recession to try and make more money or more people to come?

-Should people come to the museum to help them get distracted from the troubles of the recession?

-Do you see the museum profiting from the recession?

My First Day:

On my first day I got a chance to do many things. For the beginning of the day I mainly got to talk to my mentor and have her show me around and talk about the project that I would be doing. After that she just let me loose because it was a very packed day. She had many clients come in and so she decided to let me make many of the decision. After I was introduced to the "dungeon" which is where the museum stores their artifacts, I was allowed to poke around to start to get ready for the project that I would be doing. Around the end of the day I was fixing the computers that were running slow and also I started to organize the desk and trying to just straighten out the office.
